Ira brings experience across corporate leadership, the impact sector, coaching, psychodrama, transactional analysis, and expressive arts.

Her work focuses on helping people understand their experiences, recognize patterns, and create meaningful change. The Mirror Deck grew from this approach, using images, roles, and reflective prompts to uncover insights that direct questions may not reveal.

Why I Created the Mirror Deck

Why the Mirror Deck Exists
  • I created the Mirror Deck because I kept seeing the same thing across very different rooms.
  • People often know more than they can explain.
  • A leader may know something is not working but may not know how to name their part in it. A team may sense a pattern but avoid saying it directly.
  • A card creates distance from the issue — making the conversation safer, clearer, and more useful.
  • The Mirror Deck was built for practitioners who want to work with that kind of conversation.

01

Meet Ira Sahai

Ira Sahai is the founder of Quirkwise and creator of the Mirror Deck. Her work brings together leadership, coaching, group work psychodrama, transactional analysis, expressive arts, and organisational practice.

02

From Corporate Leadership to Human Development

Ira began her career in the corporate world, including leading a large business at Microsoft in Dubai. She later spent a decade working in the impact sector with grassroots communities across India, before building her coaching practice alongside this work.

03

A Practice Built Across Different Worlds

Over the years, Ira has worked with leaders, teams, communities, and groups in very different environments. Despite the differences in scale and context, she found a common thread: people need space to understand what they are experiencing before they can change how they respond.

04

Why I Created the Mirror Deck

The Mirror Deck grew from years of observing the same challenge: people often know something is happening but struggle to put it into words. Images create another way into the conversation, helping people recognise patterns, question assumptions, and explore what may otherwise remain difficult to express.

05

The Thinking Behind the Cards

The cards are designed to open conversations rather than provide fixed answers. They create space for reflection, curiosity, dialogue, and different perspectives — allowing people to see themselves and their situations in new ways.

06

When Words Aren’t Enough, Images Can Open the Conversation

A card gives people something to look at, react to, question, or disagree with. This creates useful distance from a difficult issue and can make reflection and conversation safer, clearer, and more productive.

07

From Curiosity to Reflection

Ira’s interest in reflection began early in life. Her habit of asking questions, observing people, and recording thoughts eventually shaped her belief that the right question at the right moment can create meaningful change.

08

Who the Mirror Deck Is For

The Mirror Deck is created for coaches, facilitators, leaders, consultants, educators, and reflective practitioners who want to help people see patterns, explore roles, and discover new choices.

09

A Tool for Meaningful Change

Mirror Deck is more than a set of illustrated cards. It is a practical tool for slowing down, creating deeper conversations, building self-awareness, and turning reflection into meaningful action can create meaningful change.
